TREATING GERD WITH THE LINX® REFLUX MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

If you’d like to know if the LINX® Reflux Management System is right for you, call us today at (855) 648-4799.

For too long, those with moderate to severe gastroesophageal reflux disease or GERD had few treatment options to help manage or reduce their symptoms. Fortunately, the LINX® Reflux Management System provides GERD sufferers with a medically proven solution.

The LINX® Reflux Management System is the only device approved by the FDA and is proven to be both safe and effective. According to research in the New England Journal of Medicine, nearly all LINX® Reflux Management System recipients saw their symptoms vastly reduced or eliminated and were able to either decrease or stop using their reflux medications entirely.

The LINX® Reflux Management System allows surgeons to support patients with a weakened lower sphincter (or LES) by placing a small device around the sphincter. The device consists of a minuscule and flexible band of interlined titanium beads with magnetic cores. Magnetic attraction between the beads helps the lower sphincter resist opening, thereby preventing reflux.

When done robotically, the minimally invasive placement procedure usually takes less than one hour. Following surgery, patients generally remain at the Surgery Center office for 23 hours for observation.

REFLUX: The Source

GERD results from having a weak lower esophageal sphincter. The weak lower sphincter allows acid and bile to reflux from the stomach into the esophagus. gerd-acid-soultion

REFLUX: The Solution

The LINX® Reflux Management System is designed to augment and restore the body’s natural barrier to acid reflux.

HOW DOES THE LINX® SYSTEM WORK?

The LINX® Reflux Management System is a minuscule and flexible band of interlined titanium beads with magnetic cores. Magnetic attraction between the beads helps the lower sphincter resist opening to gastric pressures, preventing reflux from the stomach into the esophagus. (See Fig. 1) The device is designed so that swallowing forces temporarily break the magnetic bond, allowing food and liquid to pass normally into the stomach. (See Fig. 2). The magnetic attraction of the device is engineered to close the lower sphincter immediately after swallowing, restoring the body’s natural barrier to reflux (See Fig. 3).
