Ear, Nose and Throat / ENT

The Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) experts at miVIP Surgery Centers are nationally recognized, board-certified otorhinolaryngology and otolaryngology physicians. They specialize in providing minimally invasive treatments for a variety of ENT conditions and related issues, including:

Minimally Invasive ENT Treatment

ENT specialists at miVIP use the least-invasive treatments available. Recent advances in the field of otorhinolaryngology enable our doctor to provide both non-surgical treatments and minimally invasive surgeries that can effectively resolve sinus problems, loud snoring and related ENT conditions for many patients.

When surgery is necessary, miVIP physicians use minimally invasive surgical techniques. Our centers are equipped with the most advanced technologies available, including the robotic da Vinci® Surgical System. Our surgeons and surgical support teams have expertise in robotic-assisted procedures and other innovations, such as laparoscopy, endoscopy, laser, and radiofrequency ablation, among others.

Because miVIP experts use advanced technology and minimally invasive methods, they achieve greater precision, smaller incisions with less scarring and shorter procedure times. Patients treated at miVIP typically experience less pain or blood loss, fewer complications, excellent results, and a faster recovery.*

miVIP ENT Physicians Offer Diagnosis and Treatment. No Primary Provider Referral Necessary. Call miVIP at (844) 237-5067 for insurance verification and referral to a doctor near you.

An ear, nose and throat specialist at miVIP will discuss your treatment options with you. If surgery is determined to be your best treatment option, you will be scheduled for an outpatient procedure at miVIP Surgery Center.

Minimally invasive procedures by ENT doctors at miVIP Surgery Centers include:

Non-Surgical Sinus Treatment

Balloon Sinus Dilation / Balloon Sinuplasty — Balloon Sinuplasty is a non-surgical endoscopic procedure for chronic sinusitis treatment that can also relieve related symptoms and conditions, including:

  • Sinus pressure
  • Sinus congestion
  • Headaches and facial pain
  • Sinus-related snoring
  • Sinus-related sleep apnea

For balloon sinuplasty, the ENT administers a local numbing agent before inserting a thin balloon catheter into the nose. The small balloon on the end of the catheter is gradually inflated to open the sinus passages. Balloon sinuplasty permanently expands the sinuses, reducing blockages, improving sinus drainage, and often relieving associated problems with allergies, breathing and sleep.

Sinus Surgery

Image-Guided Sinus Surgery – At miVIP, our surgeons use image-guided surgical technology to navigate the delicate structures surrounding the sinuses, including the eyes, tear ducts, optic nerves and carotid arteries. This image-guided approach significantly improves precision, protecting tissue, increasing safety and ensuring the best possible outcome.

Turbinate Reduction — Turbinates, the fleshy shelves on the inside of your nose, can become enlarged over time from seasonal allergies, colds, or air irritants. The turbinate reduction, procedure uses radio frequency to treat swollen turbinates, returning them to normal size.

Polyp Removal / Polypectomy — To remove nasal polyps and other sinus obstructions that prevent sinus drainage, ENT exerts at miIVP typically use nasal-endoscopy, or functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS).

Sleep Apnea Diagnosis

Sleep Study — People with symptoms of a sleep disorder typically participate in a sleep study as a first step before treatment to help the ENT doctor diagnose sleep apnea and determine the severity of the problem. In some cases, an oral appliance or Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) machine will be prescribed to help keep the airway open during sleep. Lifestyle changes may also be recommended. In some cases, sleep apnea surgery is an alternative to using an oral appliance or CPAP.

Sleep Apnea Surgery

Most sleep apnea procedures at miVIP Surgery Centers are robotic-assisted surgeries known as trans-oral robotic surgery, or TORS. These include:

Tonsillectomy and Adenoidectomy — Surgical removal of the tonsils may be recommended for patients with sleep apnea and/or recurring ear and sinus infections. Surgical removal of the adenoids, located behind the nose in the roof of the mouth, may also be recommended if they are enlarged and blocking the airway, causing difficulty breathing.

Uvulopalatopharyngoplasty (UPP or UP3) — The UP3 surgery removes the uvula, tonsils, and adenoids to create a clear and open pathway in the throat for easier breathing.

Base of Tongue Resection — Lesions on the base of tongue (BOT), either benign or cancerous, usually require surgical removal via a robotic-assisted base of tongue resection to ensure they don’t interfere with breathing, speech, swallowing and sleep.
